Texas High Performance Schools Consortium Update

In September of 2012, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) announced named 23 school districts to the Texas High Performance Schools Consortium, Anderson-Shirobeing one of them. Texas Association of School Administrators(TASA) highlights the transformation initiatives of the Texas High Performance Schools Consortium (THPSC) that include:

To advance the principles described in the vision document, SB 1557 charged Consortium districts with improving student learning in the state of Texas through innovation in four areas:

-  Development of high-priority learning standards

-  Use of multiple assessments to measure learning

-  Integration of technology into student learning

-  Creation of robust community-based accountability systems

As of November 2013, TASA has expanded its efforts and invited school districts to join the transformation work. Anderson-Shiro continues it's work with the consortium and looks forward to its partnership in creating "student-centered, future ready schools" across the state of Texas.
