2016 Spelling Bee

The Anderson-Shiro Junior High held their schoolwide spelling bee on Friday, December 9th. One student from each homeroom represented the 6th-8th grade. Eighth grader Triston McWalters won first place and will represent Anderson-Shiro Junior High at the Zone Competition in February. Second place went to sixth grader, Cameron Nichols. Sixth grader Hannah Abraham placed third. Mrs. Traci Trant was the junior high spelling bee coordinator.
 
The Anderson-Shiro Elementary School conducted their schoolwide spelling bee on Thursday, December 15th. One student from each homeroom represented the 2nd-5th grade. After a very close contest, Logan Averill, a fifth grader from Mrs. Huff's class was the winner and will represent Anderson-Shiro Elementary at the county-wide contest in January. Coming in second place was Will Abraham, a fourth grader, from Ms. Vezurk's homeroom. There was a tie for third place between Brooklyn Byars, a fifth grader from Mrs. Lara's homeroom, and Macy Mock, a fourth grader from Mrs. Sechelski's homeroom. Other participants were second graders Addyson Mayhew, Jillian Wisnoski, Brynlee Myers, and Claire Borski, third graders Dakota Henley, Kinley Beseda, and Lela Weaver, fourth graders Matthew Coronado and Joshua Prater, and fifth grader Rachael Nguyen. Mrs. Amy Keally was the elementary spelling bee coordinator.
