School Closure Update - 3/20

Greetings Owl Family

Today I want to take a few minutes to provide an update to our families and some direction for what's coming beginning on Monday. As you know, our teaching staff has reached out to each family about academic plans from our school. Our staff has been working diligently over the last 2 days to prepare to bring academics home for every child. Our goal in this educational process is to emphasize skills already learned and/or build skills where your child may struggle. We also want to be a support system to each student and family.

On Monday, our buses will run their normal route beginning at 8:00 am. On these routes, we will have an administrator and Instructional Aide to deliver the academic material to all students who requested bus delivery as a normal daily bus rider. Also on these routes, students who participate in our National School Lunch Program will receive a breakfast and lunch serving of food. Our expectation is for the student and/or parent to meet the bus at the stop to receive these items. If you are not available, you will need to contact the school and determine the next best option for your family.

If you have chosen to pick up your child’s work, please come to the back of the secondary campus (through the car rider line) from the hours of 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Monday, March 23rd. This included elementary students as well. We ask you to please stay in your vehicle and our staff will bring the items to you.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we are planning to run our buses again on their normal routes to deliver meals only to our students who participate in the National School Lunch program. On Wednesday we will deliver meals for 3 days at this time (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).  Please note we will not be delivering on Thursday or Friday. Meal delivery service will begin again on Monday, March 30th, with more details to come later in the week.

Again, we hope all is going well. We ask our Owl Family to be patient with us as we know there will be a few “bumps” on this road. Please remember to travel as little as possible, practice good hygiene, and PLEASE stay home if you or any of your family is running any fever.

More news to come at a later date!!  Anderson-Shiro, where we BUILD CHAMPIONS!! GO OWLS!!
