School closure and meal/instructional material pick up locations

Yesterday, our Texas Governor signed an executive order to close schools until May 4th. He also expressed the continued need of social distancing and defined essential services. While a public school is an essential service, our need to be more vigilant in preventing the spread of COVID-19 is prevalent. With this news and executive order from the President of the United States and the Governor of Texas, we will be changing our meal and academic delivery methods beginning the week of April 6th.

On Monday, April 6th, AS will begin to deliver meals and academics at common drop points within our school district boundaries. We know this may be an inconvenience for our families but feel it is in the best interest of our staff who are delivering the meals, as well as our Owl Family as a whole.

Satellite meal/academic locations will be:
Independence Cemetery (Cr 299 & FM 2620)
Shiro Feed (Bailey St.)
Singleton (The Church at Singleton, Hwy 90N.)
M-Beaux’s Restaurant (FM 244)
DNR Machine (FM 1774)
Anderson (First Baptist Church)

*AS Secondary Campus will be open for pickup as well on specific days and times.

Each of the satellite locations will be open for 45 minutes on the specific day as noted below:

Monday, April 6
8:30 - 9:15 am - DNR Machine, Singleton, Independence Cemetery
9:30 - 10:15 am - Anderson, M-Beaux’s, Shiro Feed
10:30 am - 1:00 pm: AS Secondary Campus

Thank you for supporting our new plan and efforts to reach families while helping control the spread of COVID-19.
