2024-2025 Calendar
Above is the board-approved 2024-2025 academic calendar. Here is a summary of the survey results (564 people responded) and how the calendar reflects the survey feedback:
- 82% preferred an earlier start in August to get out in May
- 52% preferred the first day to be Wednesday and 20.9% had no preference
- 70.4% preferred bad weather days scattered throughout the year
- 61% preferred a Fall/October, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter/February, and Spring Break
- 59% preferred more days off after Christmas than before
- 58.9% preferred the Monday after Easter to the Friday before Spring Break
- 48% had no preference on parent conferences for fall and spring
Our site-based committee reviewed the data and helped build and approve the calendar that went to the board that was approved last night. The main difference impacting families with the 2024-2025 school year calendar is a slight adjustment to the elementary start time from 7:47 to 7:45 am. This is to align the number of minutes between our two campuses for the purpose of any minutes that may need to be made up for closing school.
The site-based committee also discussed the majority of positive feedback, 65% in favor, from our questions around the 4-day school week, so we will continue to explore that option for future calendars.
